REGULATIONS

Preamble

Through cinema, our weapon of resistance and awareness of the crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinians, and in continuation of Festival Ciné Palestine mobilization in support of the Palestinian struggle, the festival launches the call for short films for its traditional competition.

For the ninth consecutive year, the Festival Ciné-Palestine Paris (FCP) is calling for short narratives, documentaries, and animated films to take part in its 9th annual short film competition in Paris.

 

The FCP aims to offer a quality selection of independent, innovative, and experimental Palestinian art and visual works. It is dedicated to providing a platform for and actively supporting Palestinian filmmakers worldwide.

 

The competition is open to Palestinian filmmakers worldwide.

 

The “Short Film Competition” for Palestinian filmmakers will be followed by a jury and an audience award ceremony.

Article 2. Entry fee

As a non-profit festival, FCP does not charge an entry fee.

 

Article 3. Conditions

Only films that meet all the following conditions may be chosen for participation in the competition:

  • The director must be Palestinian;
  • Films that are either documentaries, fiction, or animated films; non-promotional and corporate films. 
  • Your short film must be your first,second or third work.
  • Films that have been produced from 2021 onwards.
  • Films that do not exceed 35 minutes in length, including credits.
  • Films that not freely available on the Internet.
  • Films that are in line with the vision and goals of the Festival Ciné-Palestine.
  • Must not have been submitted to previous editions of the FCP competition

 

Article 4. Withdrawal

Once a film has been selected, it cannot be withdrawn from the Festival’s program during the event.

 

Article 5. Language and subtitles

All films must be presented in their original language, with English or French subtitles. By “original language” we mean the language in which the film is or will be exhibited in its country of origin. 

The subtitles files (.srt format) must be provided within 15 days after the selected filmmakers confirm their participation. 

 

Article 6. Jury

The Jury will be composed of five Palestinian and international members.

Any person having taken part in the production or exploitation of a film in competition may not be a member of the Jury.

  

Article 7. Awards

A Jury Award and an Audience Award will be given to the winner of the Short film competition. The awards consist of a monetary compensation.

 

Article 8. Submission

Films must be submitted by 1st February 2026. An entry form must be filled in on our website www.festivalpalestine.paris prior to this date.

  

Article 9. Documentation

Complete documentation (film poster and filmmaker’s photo) for each selected film must be provided within 15 days after the selected filmmakers confirm their participation. 

 

Article 10. Publicity and press

The selected filmmakers will be asked to send publicity materials to the FCP.  These will be used in FCP publications and for distribution to the press and the festival guests.

FCP is qualified to use excerpts from the film, with a maximum of 3 minutes, nationally and internationally for promotional purposes. 

 

Article 11. Broadcasting rights

The selected filmmakers grant the FCP the permission to broadcast their films during the Festival, in French theaters or via a secured link online.

Article 12. Expenses

Expenses for the shipping (for both import and export) and screening of selected films are to be met by the film's producers or relevant body.

 

Article 13. Regulation authority

FCP Selection Committee has the power to settle all cases related to this competition.

 

Article 14. Responsibility 

Participants shall obtain all permits from all parties who have directly or indirectly taken part in the making of the film and/or who believe they have any right to argue against it, including image/sound copyrights, and will assume responsibility for any possible payments.

FCP disclaims any responsibility in case of dispute over image/sound copyrights. Only the participant will be responsible for them.

 

Article 15. General terms

Participation in FCP implies acceptance of all the aforementioned regulations.
