This screening will open with the short film “45th Parallel” by Lawrence Abu Hamdan. Through the voice of Palestinian director Mahdi Fleifel, the film exposes the constructed and illusory nature of borders, which, while serving the violence of states, also opens up breaches. With “An Incomplete Calendar” by Iranian filmmaker Sanaz Sohrabi, we will then return to the era when pan-Arab solidarity sought to redraw borders against imperialist domination, to strengthen the liberation struggle in Palestine.
