Born April 9, 1936 in Acre, Palestine, and died July 8, 1972 in Beirut, Lebanon, Ghassan Kanafani was a Palestinian writer and politician. On the literary level, he is known for his prolific work relating to the Palestinian cause, the most emblematic of which is: "Return to Haifa". Politically, he is known to be an important member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
