Salt of this Sea

Palestine | 2008 | 25 min | Fiction Soraya, 28, born and raised in Brooklyn, decides to move back to Palestine, the country from which her family fled in 1948. As soon as she arrives in Ramallah, Soraya tries to recover her grandparents' money frozen in an account in Jaffa, but is refused by the bank. Her path then crosses that of Emad, a young Palestinian who, unlike her, wants only one thing: to leave forever. To escape the constraints of the country's situation, but also to win their freedom, Soraya and Emad must take their destiny into their own hands, even if it means breaking the law. In this race for life, they will take us along in the footsteps of their history in lost Palestine. A film by Anne-Marie Jacir
