The Ghoul

In this film, the mother, in a long and seemingly endless night of terror, tries to ward off the ghoul and protect her two children through ritualistic dances. A film by Ala Desoki Ala Desoki is a Palestinian filmmaker, originating from the village of Bashit near Ramleh, whose inhabitants were displaced in 1948. She was born in Saudi Arabia in 1991, and lives in Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. She graduated from Al-Aqsa University, Department of Radio and Television, and also has a diploma in electronic marketing. Her short films include: Pepper and Sardines (with Athar Jadili, 2011), Noise (2012) and Mansher Ghaseelo (with Areej Abu Eid, 2013), all produced by Shashat Woman Cinema. This film is selected for the 5th edition of the short film competition.
