This short film program traces a journey of resistance through exile, memory, and counter-narratives, using forms that reflect the diversity of contemporary Palestinian creation. With the documentary “Intersecting Memory” and the animated film “Where the Jasmine Always Blooms,” filmmakers Shayma’ Awawdeh and Husein Bastouni seek to process and preserve memories of the political events that have shaped their lives. In “Morgenkreis,” Basma al-Sharif follows the daily rituals of a father and son in exile in Germany, revealing how violence and loss are woven into the fabric of their daily lives. Finally, Theo Panagopoulos’s “A Land With A People” takes shape through the collective reappropriation of colonial archival images to affirm the Palestinians’ deep roots in their land—yesterday, today, and forever.
