FCP MENTORSHIP IN-RESIDENCY PROGRAM FOR SHORT FILMS (PARIS)

 

Festival Ciné-Palestine Paris (FCP) launches the fifth edition of its Mentorship Program.

This program aims to assist emerging Palestinian filmmakers in developing and completing a draft of their original short film screenplay under the guidance of experienced mentors. At this difficult time, we are committed to support and accompany Palestinian filmmakers as a form of cultural resistance. 

 

The program is open to Palestinian filmmakers from all over the world and provides a transformative experience for filmmakers to explore their creativity and individual voice in an inspiring, intensive program that balances one-on-one mentorship sessions and independent work with moderated group discussions and presentations. 

Participants will be offered a space to enhance their experience throughout a month residency in Paris, beside a tailored mentorship program that will help them to improve their skills in dramatic writing (premise, theme, structure, characters, story, etc.).  

 

The residency is structured in:  

  • One month in-residency program
  • One-on-one mentorship
  • Online and on-site sessions Masterclasses with filmmakers, editors, script
  • Pitching session in front of selected industrial professionals during the festival period (in English)

    Requirements: 

  • Candidates must be Palestinian (West Bank, Gaza, 48’, diaspora)
  • Narrative, documentary, animation and experimental short films are eligible
  • Project proposal must be written in English, Arabic or French Intermediate
  • English language level required
  • Full availability required in June 2026
  • Candidates must hold a valid passport
  • Only one person may apply per project (no co-directing applications)
  • Only one project per person will be accepted

    Expenses:

  • Travel expenses and lodging for one month will be covered by the Festival.
  • Per diem covered by the FCP

    Schedule:

  • Workshop in-residency: June 2026
  • Festival Cine Palestine 5-14 June 2026
  • Pitching session + Meeting with producers: on the last week of residency.
