The Wall

Palestine | 2024 | 6 min | Narrative A Palestinian man in his sixty’s lives in a refugee camp surrounded by walls covered in writings. He decides to paint the wall of his small house. But each time he tries, external factors intervene, thwarting his efforts. Eventually, he gives up. In the refugee camp, it's widely understood that despite being attached to individual homes, the walls belong to the collective community. People continue to write on them, using them as a form of resistance, standing together in solidarity against forces they face. A film by Alaa Abuzaineh Alaa Abuzaineh is a Palestinian Director. She graduated with a BA degree in filmmaking from Dar Al -Kalima university. She directed her first short film during her study called “The Wall”. Currently, she is working on her new short film called “Butterfly”. She also worked in many Palestinian films as an art director, art assistant, props master, such as “Gaza Bride 17” “Passing Dreams”, and “Blood Like Water”.
