A film by Maha Haj Born in Nazareth in 1970, Maha Haj kicked off her filmmaking career working as an artistic designer on “The Time That Remains” (2009) by Elia Suleiman and “The Attack” (2012) by Ziad Doueiri. In parallel, she wrote and directed the short film “Oranges” (2009) and the documentary “Within These Walls” (2010). In 2016, she directed “Personal Affairs”, which premiered to critical acclaim in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival and which won the Critics’ Award at the Cinemed. In 2022, her latest fiction feature “Mediterranean Fever” won Un Certain Regard's Best Screenplay award.
